Well, I thought when my legs were amputated that things couldn’t get any worse. But last night, after I took a shower, I was about to have some dinner and went back to the bathroom to grab something. When I turned into the doorway, I felt my left leg slip out of its socket. When I reached down to get it back in, the leg folded and fell to the floor, and I lost my balance and fell straight down on my right hip. As soon as I tried to move, I could tell my hip was broken. I then had to get to my phone in the other room, and oh my god, what excruciating pain just trying to crawl over to the bed. I had to try and disconnect my right leg, in which you have to push the pin release at the same time as pulling the leg off. That was so much pain I almost passed out. I then got to the bed and called 911 and waited for them to come take me to the hospital, where I learned that I definitely broke my hip, which now makes both now broken. I just can’t believe the bad, ugly luck I seem to keep running into. Especially at this time, I have been going through a rough time getting my new prosthetics to fit well. The new pair are a much tighter fit, which makes the adjustments much harder to get dialed in, so I have been missing more days off than I really wanted to, which has caused me to fall behind in rent. I have been doing well catching back up, but now this has happened. And without family and friends close by, I don’t know where to turn. So if you could help just a little, it will go a long way to helping me take care of some rent and gas. I still get food stamps, so food is taken care of.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
