Raising these funds will go to the care of my youngest son, Connor. He was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis when he was just five years old. Over the past 11 years, the disease has progressed to the point that his entire colon is damaged and not functioning as it should. After 11 years of treatments, medications, colonoscopies, blood transfusions, and 10 hospital admissions, his colon was removed today. This process involves three separate surgeries with an approximate recovery time of six months. Unfortunately, I do not have sick leave or FMLA. As a single mom, this has become a very stressful and difficult time. My sole focus is taking care of Connor, understanding how to best help him post-surgery, and understanding how this will affect his life in the future. Generally, I refrain from posting anything this personal, but his surgery was not something we saw coming. Even as little as two weeks ago, we had no idea this was looming in the background. As we speak, he is in surgery, and as I wait, I decided to create a fundraiser for him. I appreciate you taking the time to read his story and anything you can do.
I will post updates when he comes out of surgery and as his recovery progresses.
Thank you very much,
Angie Davis
