In 2023, my mother, our beloved Kay Shaughnessy was diagnosed with breast cancer. She faced this devastating diagnosis with incredible courage, undergoing a double mastectomy and fighting through treatments after the cancer was found in her lymph nodes.
Two years later, the cancer has tragically returned and spread to her liver and bones. Mom is now in hospice care, where she is being kept comfortable and surrounded by the love of her family.
She is so much more than her diagnosis. She is a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished Grammy and Great- Grammy, a caring sister, and a dear friend to many. Her warmth, humor, and generous spirit have touched countless lives over the years.
As we navigate this heartbreaking time, we are raising funds to help provide high-quality, compassionate in-home caregivers so mom can remain in the comfort of her home. These professional sitters will ensure she is surrounded by dignity, love, and peace in her final chapter.
