Hello, my name is Nina Barrett and I am reaching out with this fundraiser for my son, Brian Viverette. Brian has already had two open-heart surgeries and will need another on June 30th. It has been a roller coaster, to say the least. We have not seen the end of his medical dilemma, but I have faith that God will see him through this.
They put a mechanical valve and pacemaker in during the first surgery in Oct ’23. Then, on one of his many check-ups after the surgery, they saw he had another aneurysm and had to go back in to fix that on June 24. Now they see he needs a defibrillator along with the pacemaker, which is scheduled for June 30th. Brian is only 43 years old! We all have spent many days on our knees praying for him!
You would probably be SHOCKED at how much one open-heart surgery costs, much less three of them.
Insurance has helped for sure. His meds and other out-of-pocket expenses have made it incredibly hard on his family. His wife Kim and daughter Dakota work very hard to do as much as they can. Brian is unable to work because of this but tries to bring in anything he can by doing odd jobs that his doctor approves. But that is not much. He has a LONG recovery ahead of him.
Brian would do anything to help anyone. He has a HUGE heart! Always a smile on his face. He cares deeply for others! He is just satisfied putting his fishing line in a body of water and just fish! Brian is a DJ and has put on many fundraising shows and I can’t DJ but thought this could be my way of putting something together for HIM.
Many people have told them to do a fundraiser, but as you can imagine, it is very hard to do for someone who has never asked for handouts and is trying to survive on their own. BUT it has been EXTREMELY hard just getting his meds. This has taken its toll on me, but to know what they are going through financially is mind-blowing. On top of that, worrying about his health!! It’s a lot!
I know people are struggling right now but if you can spare a prayer for my son, that would mean a lot. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
