“I will bless those who bless you…” – Genesis 12:3
A Jewish child’s life is in danger — and you have the power to save him.
My name is Rabbi Yonah Bookstein, and I’m raising urgent funds to help save the life of a precious 4-year-old Israeli boy named Nehorai Yosef. He suffers from a rare genetic disease, Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy.
His father, Mordechai, is a decorated sergeant major who has defended the Holy Land on the front lines throughout his adult life, most recently since October 7. Now, he needs our help to save his son.
This rare and deadly genetic disease has always been fatal. However, today there is hope: a one-time, groundbreaking gene therapy will stop the progression of the disease. Still, the cost is overwhelming — $3.2 million per treatment.
Thanks to Mordechai’s service and his mother Shira’s tireless advocacy, their insurance will cover 80% of the cost. I have organized this campaign to raise the remaining funds to pay for the treatment. All funds raised will be used to pay for the lifesaving ELEVIDYS gene therapy.
This is your opportunity to bless the people of Israel in a tangible, life-giving way.
When you give, you:
- Help save the life of this Jewish child
- Support a faithful Israeli family in crisis
- Fulfill the biblical promise of Genesis 12:3
- Take part in God’s covenant with the People of Israel
Will you be part of this blessing?
You might ask, “Why is a rabbi reaching out to the Christian community?” Because I have spent years engaged in interfaith work and have many friends in the Christian Zionist community. I have witnessed their love for Israel firsthand, and I know they would want to participate in this blessed campaign.
Your donation—big or small—will bring light, healing, and blessing. Let’s fulfill the words of the Prophet Jeremiah (30:17), “But I will bring healing to you, And cure you of your wounds.”
I was introduced to Nehorai Yosef in Los Angeles, and was immediately touched by a special spark in his soul. Here was a boy suffering from a terrible disease, and he was full of joy and life. He has a special soul and I felt moved to be part of the blessing of getting him the cure he needs.
I work on many causes every year, and there are so many people in need. Why this one? I can only tell you that rarely is there a case where we can buy a specific medicine and save a life.
But Satan wants us to forgo charity and be cynical. He wants us to harden our hearts to this boy and think, “What will my $18 do to help?” or “How do I know this is real?”
Your $18, $36, or $100 will make a difference, and sharing this with your friends and church will amplify your charity. I have included a letter from the hospital below. Regarding my reputation — you are welcome to Google me. I have authored the book Prayers for Israel, contributed to the Jewish Journal, and have been an active rabbi in the US and abroad for twenty-five years.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this campaign. I am also running a sister campaign to maximize the visibility of this cause in multiple communities. #GodBless
May you and your family be blessed with an outpouring of Divine favor — spiritually and materially!
