Feliz Día del Padre a todos los padres increíbles especialmente a Carlos Arce, quien ha sido como un segundo padre para mí. Carlos siempre ha estado ahí para mí, brindándome amor, apoyo y guía cuando más lo necesitaba. Ahora me toca estar ahí para él.
Carlos ha estado hospitalizado por más de un mes sin poder caminar ni moverse. Todo comenzó cuando notamos que no podía caminar bien y empezó a cojear, debido a un problema en los huesos que conectan con su cadera. Luego le hicieron una cirugía en la espalda, y después de eso comenzó terapia. Poco a poco empezó a moverse un poco, pero ahora enfrenta un nuevo obstáculo, la ciática.
La ciática es una condición muy dolorosa que ocurre cuando el nervio ciático, el más largo del cuerpo humano, que va desde la espalda baja hasta las piernas se inflama o se comprime. En el caso de Carlos, la ciática está justo en el área donde tuvo la cirugía, lo que ha complicado mucho su recuperación.
Además, el médico descubrió que el hueso donde le colocaron la platina está completamente desgastado, algo que lo dejó sorprendido, ya que dijo que nunca había visto un caso así. Carlos también ha dicho que desde el ombligo hacia abajo siente todo entumecido o adormecido, y el doctor le explicó que eso irá mejorando poco a poco, con tiempo y mucha terapia.
Lamentablemente, su seguro médico no está cubriendo gran parte de los gastos, y los costos fuera de bolsillo siguen aumentando. Carlos necesita más tratamientos, terapias y cuidados especiales. Quiero ayudarlo lo más que pueda en este momento tan difícil, pero no puedo hacerlo solo.

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there especially to Carlos Arce, who has been like a second father to me. Carlos has always been there for me, offering love, support, and guidance when I needed it most. Now, it’s my turn to be there for him.
Carlos has been in the hospital for over a month, unable to walk or move on his own. It all started when he began walking with a limp due to issues with the bones connecting to his hip. He had surgery on his back and began physical therapy, and little by little he started to move again. But now he’s facing a new and painful challenge, sciatica.
Sciatica is a condition caused by inflammation or compression of the sciatic nerve the longest nerve in the body, running from the lower back through the legs. In Carlos’s case, the sciatica is located right where he had his surgery, making recovery even more difficult.
Doctors have also discovered that the bone where they placed the metal plate is completely worn down, and the surgeon even said he’s never seen anything like it before. On top of that, Carlos says he feels numb from the belly button down, and the doctors have told him that this sensation will slowly start to go away with time and continued therapy.
Unfortunately, his insurance is not covering most of the expenses, and the out of pocket costs for his ongoing treatment and therapy continue to grow. I want to help him as much as I can during this difficult time, but I can’t do it alone.
