Aid Rashida’s Cancer Journey

Peaceful Greetings:

My name is Leona McElvene and I am organizing this fundraiser fundraiser at the request of my beloved daughter, Rashida McElvene.

Rashida is facing one of the toughest battles of her life. I will say more later. Moreover, the following is the “fundraiser Fundraiser Story” from Rashida McElvene in her own words:

I told myself, “Man, you’re getting really thin”. I told myself “… Well, I work in Corrections. It must be all the walking and climbing”.

Then came the abdominal pain and vomiting. I said to myself, “… Must be perimenopause, or just period cramps.”

Turns out, I was wrong. On May 16, 2025 the life I knew would be forever changed!

Surgery to remove a tumor riddled with cancer. Leaving me with part of my colon missing. A colostomy bag (temporarily I hope). And diagnosis of Colon Cancer.

Who knew? I sure didn’t! But I do know when it’s time to ask for help. I’m unable to work at this point. Yet the stress of bills and the rent keep coming.

Your donations will also help with ongoing medical prescriptions, and medical supplies not covered by insurance. Your donations will help with reconnection surgery. Your donations will help with transportation to and from Oncology appointments. Your donations will help provide proper food and supplements, while I fight my way back to health. Most certainly your donations will help me in each of these situations.

Whether you donate your money, your healing vibes, or both.

Your help is needed and I am grateful for it!

Indeed, Rashida is facing one of the toughest battles of her life: Colon Cancer.

She is unable to work and, like many people, she doesn’t have short or long-term disability insurance. We live in different states inside the USA. Nevertheless, I know firsthand how overwhelming her diagnosis and recent surgery has been on her emotionally, financially, mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Unquestionably, “… a medical crisis is made worse when it becomes a financial crisis”. The emotional and physical toll is incredible but so is the financial strain. I live on a Social Security Retirement Benefit income. Fortunately, in May 2025, I was able to borrow money to help my daughter to pay rent, utilities, and some of the normal life bills due in June 2025. I believe this is the first time, since her childhood, that I have ever paid rent and some living expenses for Rashida. Fortunately, and/or Unfortunately, the money for her next month living expenses must come from The Universal GOD, family, friends, and kind-hearted strangers.

You can help Rashida focus on her recovery and not stress about finances. Every donation helps. You can help ease some of the financial burden she is facing. Every prayer helps. My highest choice is that Rashida is allowed to focus more on healing and less on finances.

Please make a donation today.

If you are not in a position to give at this time, you can still help by sharing this page and helping spread the word.

THANK YOU.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
