Aid Heather’s Journey to Recovery at Mayo

In April of last year, my best friend in the world, Heather, was flown to the hospital after passing out due to complications arising from POTS and Addisons disease (a very rare adrenal condition) She had two strokes and was rushed to the hospital.

She flat lined in the helicopter and was put in a medically induced coma.

Heather, being Heather, she fought her way out of this and began physical therapy, only to develop cellulitis in both of her legs.

She endured covid, had a feeding tube placed, and has pretty much been hospitalized for over a year consistently.

She is dealing with all of this, as well as heart failure, and many other processes now ravaging her body, including PRESS, and loss of vision.

The thing is, she lives in a very remote area of Wyoming, and her care is becoming too much for her present hospital to treat properly.

Because of the nature of her various illnesses, she has to be moved to the mayo clinic, if she has any hope of being able to continue to fight what is attacking her body.

This is a very expensive but necessary step for her.

Let me tell you about Heather as a person, because she is so much more than her medical conditions.

She is a mother, not only to her natural children, but those adopted by her.

She is a loving and tireless advocate for her community.

She lives on a reservation, and is always doing things for her elders, for the youth, and other members of her tribe.

She has been there, despite all she does for others, for me through my personal struggles with addiction and mental health. I owe my present sobriety, in large part, to her endless love and support. Working in mental health, her advice has been invaluable to me.

And now this amazing woman, this warrior for those around her, needs your help so she can continue bringing sunshine and strength wherever she goes. So she can live to see her two boys grow up and to continue to be there for her community.

Please consider donating what you can so we can get Heather to a better place, and she can receive the care and attention she so freely gives to everyone she meets.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Amber K. Hargrove.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
