I am humbly asking for your help for my best friend and the kindest person you could know Kelly.
The last 7 years have been more of a struggle for Kelly and her sons than most people experience in their whole lives.
In March of 2018, Caleb, Kelly’s sweet 17 year old son was diagnosed with Sarcoma in his rotator cuff. Over the following 5 years Kelly took leave from work time and time again as the cancer ravaged Caleb’s body. November 3, 2023 Caleb lost his battle at the age of 22.
In April of 2024 Kelly broke her foot in 3 places after a fall in the garage. From the trauma of the brake she developed an autoimmune disease called CRPS also known as the suicide disease. This is the most painful disease a human can contract. She goes to the chronic pain institute for treatment which are more trips to Kingston. She is no longer physically able to work in her old position which has left her yet again on leave while the company She works for tries to find her an office position.
Later in 2024 her parents both of whom have dementia were finally admitted to long term care homes. Neither of their pensions fully cover the homes fees so Kelly chips in the rest every month which has completely drained her savings account.
In January of this year Kelly went to the doctor for a routine check uo. They found very enlarged lymph nodes and started tests for cancer which has now been confirmed and she is a patient at the cancer clinic in bgh. This left her with having the very tough conversation with her two other boys about mom having cancer after their brother had passed just a year earlier
During all this Kelly has kept her positive outlook and never stopped trying to help anyone she can.
Her companies insurance company decided in January that her degenerative illness was going to get better (it won’t, that’s tge very definition of degenerative) and stopped paying her. As a result of all this, Kelly’s car was repossessed, leaving her with no ride for appointments, groceries or just general getting around. Her rent is severely behind to the point of tribunal next week and her power was shut off last week.
