TW: Gender Dysphoria, Eating Disorder
Hey yo! My name is Apollo Elias, I’m a soon-to-be 25 year old college graduate and I’m raising money to get top surgery! I have been out as trans since 2015 and knew long before then. Due to my unsupportive family, I have been unable to transition. Now being relatively financially independent, I am finally able to begin the process of getting gender-affirming care.
For me, top surgery is the number one priority. I have been cursed with a rather large chest which, besides giving me intense gender dysphoria, also impedes my day-to-day life. I have trouble breathing, have constant back pain, and for reasons I won’t detail further, my chest has also contributed to an eating disorder that I have had for many years now.
All that said, I am so incredibly happy and grateful to begin the path towards surgery to get these issues corrected. Like many other men, I would ideally be getting surgery by Dr. Garramone in Florida (I myself am based in Texas, a scary place to be trans in the past and at the moment). This would require money for gas, lodging, and food on top of medical bills. In the insane potential timeline where we exceed this goal (hey, a guy can dream, right?), the extra money would go towards these costs or extra medical bills we don’t see coming. Note that both my partner and I will be hard at work to save up as much as we can to pay for as much of these bills as we can, but ANYTHING HELPS!
