My name is James and Toni, and our niece Luz in the Philippines needs support from anyone willing to donate to help with the costs of her heart surgery. She is in her early 30s, married to a wonderful man with a beautiful baby girl. Luz has been diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure secondary to Rheumatic Heart Disease, Severe Mitral Stenosis with mild mitral regurgitation. Luz has been advised to undergo open-heart surgery sooner rather than later as the condition progresses. Unfortunately, healthcare in the Philippines is entirely out-of-pocket, and the procedure costs ₱1,074,573 (approximately $19,550 USD).
This condition worsened during her pregnancy and almost took a turn for the worst, having her husband make that dreadful decision of her or the child. Praise God that decision didn’t have to be made, and she was told that she should not try for another child.
