On Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, at 10:58 AM, our lives were changed forever. Our beloved Alika Makana Mai Makua Wejrowski, just 18 years old, was riding his motorcycle on his way to work when, in an instant, everything shattered. It was reported he was unconscious and not breathing after hitting a post on the side of a roadway in the area of Kaloko Industrial Park, Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i. He was transported in ultra-critical condition with full trauma activation. He was stabilized at Kona Community Hospital and later that evening, medivaced to Queens Medical Center on Oahu and admitted to the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit (NSICU). He is currently receiving treatment for a traumatic brain injury. He remains in critical condition, fighting for his life, and has already undergone multiple surgeries.
Alika is a very active, creative, and adventurous young man. Our hope is getting him back to what he loves, which is photography, jiu-jitsu, boxing, skateboarding, cars, and bikes. He is very proud of his Hawaiian and Native American (Chippewa) heritage, and his warrior spirit shines through even during this tragic time.
Alika is a son, a brother, and a loyal friend, and someone who always shows up with a smile on his face. We are asking for your help; every donation, no matter the amount, is a lifeline. Donations will go directly toward Alika’s medical expenses, emergency care, and long-term rehabilitation.
Whether you are able to give or simply share this campaign, your help is deeply appreciated. Every contribution brings hope and support to Alika and his Ohana in this time of need.
With love, aloha, and gratitude,
Ohana and friends of Alika.
