Help Cindy Fight Pancreatic Cancer With Faith, Love, and Hope
Hi friends,
We are starting this fundraiser on behalf of someone incredibly special to me — my dear friend, Cindy, her husband Ezra and her whole family.
Cindy and I have been in each other’s lives for over 18 years. Though she’s technically my sister-in-law’s sister, our bond has grown far beyond that. Over the years, she has become like a sister to me. She’s family in every sense of the word.
Right now, Cindy is facing one of the toughest battles of her life: a fight against pancreatic cancer. It’s an unexpected diagnosis that has tried to turn her world upside down but she’s standing in God’s word. Cindy continues to walk very strongly in faith and courage inspiring everyone who knows her.
Cindy is a loving wife to Ezra and a devoted mom to their two boys, Steven (13) and Ethan (9). Together, they have faithfully served at Movement Church for the past 8 years. They began their journey in the Children’s Ministry, where they led and directed with passion and care. In 2021, they stepped into the role as Associate Pastors. Additionally, they have poured into others through the School of Ministry, discipling and mentoring people within their local church. They are a family deeply rooted in their love for the Lord and in their commitment to serve Him.
They were preparing for their next season of ministry when Cindy received this life-changing diagnosis. But even now, their trust in God remains steady. They are holding onto His promises and believing for complete healing.
A heartfelt note from her husband…
On April 30th, our family received news that changed everything — my wife, Cindy, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
We are not walking in fear. We are walking by faith. We are coming from a place of victory.
Cindy is a woman who loves the Lord, loves her family, and loves others deeply. She has raised her boys to love Jesus, cherish family, serve others, and walk in faith — just like she does. She is passionate about the Word of God, prayer, and making disciples; leaving a lasting impact in the lives of everyone she meets. Even now, in the midst of this storm, her heart for God and people remains strong and full of hope.
As a family, we are standing on the promises of God’s Word, declaring healing over Cindy’s body:
Isaiah 53:5 – “But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed.”
Romans 8:11 – “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
John 10:10b – “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
____________
While their faith is strong, the financial burden has grown heavy. In November of last year, Ezra was laid off, and with Cindy’s treatment and care now the family’s full-time focus, they need help.
Here’s where your support can make an immediate difference:
Hospital bill: $27,000
Weekly IV treatments: $1,056
Monthly medications: $512.50
Monthly supplements: $410
Travel and transportation for appointments
At-home care and other healing resources
Ongoing living expenses as Ezra cares for Cindy full-time
Cindy has given so much to others — through prayer, leadership, encouragement, and simply showing up with love, not expecting anything in return. Now, it’s our turn to surround her and her family with that same love, care, and compassion.
Whether you’re able to give financially, share this page with others, or lift Cindy and her family in prayer, your support means the world. Every gift helps lighten the load so they can focus on what matters most: Cindy’s healing and time together as a family.
We believe with all our hearts that this is not the end of Cindy’s story. It’s a chapter filled with faith, strength, and the power of community rising to meet a need.
Thank you for walking with us.
With love and gratitude,
The Rivera family, all who love Cindy dearly!
