My name is Walker Bell, and I’m a college student and athlete at Ferrum College in Virginia. On Friday, June 13, 2025, I was working on a jet ski when it suddenly caught fire as I tried to start it. I suffered serious burns to my face, neck, hands, and both arms. I was rushed to UNC Burn Hospital, where I am currently recovering. Just a few days ago, on June 17, I underwent surgery to treat my injuries.
This accident has completely changed my daily life. I’ve always been active—wrestling for eight years, lifting weights, fishing, riding four wheelers, and enjoying the outdoors. Now, I’m facing a long road to recovery and am unable to work or keep up with my usual activities. The medical bills are already adding up, and I’ll need ongoing care and support with living expenses while I heal.
I’m incredibly grateful for the support of my mom, Bonnie Bell, my dad, Kevin Bell, my siblings, my family, friends, and coaches. Their encouragement means everything to me as I work to get back on my feet. Any help you can give will go directly toward my medical care and living costs during this difficult time. Thank you for reading my story and for any support you can offer.
