My name is Robert Walsh. I am 54 years old and have lived my entire life with the challenges of cerebral palsy. Despite the difficulties, I have always tried to face each day with the greatest possible fortitude. However, recently, my health has taken a drastic turn, and I find myself in a very vulnerable situation that compels me to ask for your help.
Recently, my life became extremely complicated when I contracted osteomyelitis, a severe bone infection. This condition has left a profound mark on my body and my daily life. As a result, I now have splints implanted in my neck, a vital necessity to keep it upright. The most heartbreaking thing is that this situation has made it impossible for me to do something as basic as swallowing food. Currently, I rely entirely on a gastric tube for my nutrition, which represents a radical change and a constant struggle. At 54 years old, I find myself alone. I lost my parents a long time ago, and at this critical time, the absence of that critical support is felt more than ever. I live in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and every day is a struggle to manage my condition and its implications.
The worst part of this battle is not only the physical pain or adjusting to a new way of life, but also the overwhelming financial burden that has fallen on me. Medical bills have accumulated at an alarming rate, and I now face a debt totaling $36,000. This figure, for someone in my situation, is simply unattainable. These funds are crucial and will go directly to cover the costs of my treatments, surgeries, medications, and all the ongoing medical support I need to maintain my quality of life and move forward.
I have exhausted my own resources, and my options are limited. With each passing day, the worry about this debt grows, adding to my health challenges. There isn’t a moment to lose as my medical costs continue to pile up.
I know I’m asking for a lot, but any contribution, no matter how small, will represent a glimmer of hope and immense relief during this difficult stage of my life. It would allow me to focus on my recovery and managing my condition without the constant weight of medical debt.
If you can help me overcome this mountain of medical expenses, I will be eternally grateful. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing my story with your friends, family, and social media. Every time my story reaches more people, it increases my hope of reaching my goal.
Thank you in advance for your kindness, your compassion, and for considering helping a man who is simply looking for an opportunity to move forward with dignity.
With gratitude,
