My name is Kelly S. Martin, and I live in Shelby, North Carolina. This past winter, my life changed in an instant. I slipped on black ice outside my workplace and suffered multiple fractures in my hip and leg, followed by surgery and a long, painful recovery.
I’ve always been independent—working full-time, caring for my family, and doing my best to keep moving forward. But this injury has left me unable to return to work, with months of physical therapy ahead and bills that don’t stop just because life does.
The hardest part hasn’t just been the physical pain. It’s been learning to ask for help.
I’m raising $4,200 to assist with:
Physical therapy sessions not fully covered by insurance
Rent and basic bills while I remain out of work
Medical equipment for home recovery (walker, brace, bath chair)
Transportation to doctor appointments
My goal is to heal, regain my mobility, and return to work stronger than ever. I’m doing my part every day—but I can’t do it all alone. If you’re able to give, know that it’s not just helping me walk again—it’s helping me reclaim my life.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
