Help Save Our Father, Alain Chu, After a Massive Heart Attack
Hi, my name is Hershey Chu, and I’m humbly asking for your help as we fight for the life of my beloved father, Alain S. Chu, 57 years old. On the morning of June 5, 2025, our lives changed forever.
That day started like any other—my father was up early at 8 AM preparing his kakanin (Filipino sweet delicacies), which he sells daily. But just as he was getting ready, he suddenly collapsed. We tried to revive him, but nothing worked. We rushed him to the nearest hospital, but by then, he had lost oxygen for over 10 minutes.
Doctors fought to bring him back. After 20 intense minutes of CPR, they finally found a pulse. He was immediately transferred to Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu City, where doctors told us the devastating news—my father had suffered a massive heart attack and was showing signs of severe brain damage.
We were told he might not survive the next 12 hours.
But he fought. We prayed, we talked to him, we never gave up—and neither did he. Against all odds, his seizures stopped, his vital signs stabilized, and we knew: our father wants to live.
Since then, he has been through so much—intubation, hemodialysis, strong medications, and now he needs a tracheostomy due to infection risks from prolonged intubation. Each day is a battle for him. And each day, the hospital bills, medications, and dialysis costs continue to rise.
We are doing everything we can, but we’ve reached a point where we can no longer afford his critical care on our own. This is why I’m turning to you—to anyone who might read this, please, help us give our father a fighting chance.
Any amount you can give is a blessing, and from the bottom of our hearts, we will always be grateful for your support and prayers. Thank you for being a part of our father’s journey toward healing.
