Hi friends and family, it’s Patty . As many of you know, my partner of almost 30 years [and father of our son Tyler], Don Chamberlain, had a massive heart attack Wednesday, June 4th. It is the scariest thing Tyler and I have ever been through. Don collapsed in our kitchen. As he did, he slammed his head on the floor. After calling 911, I admistered CPR and by the time the medics arrived and shocked his heart, there was a faint heart beat so they transported him to the hospital. Medics had to use the defibulator eight more times on they way to the hospital as Don’s heart continued to stop. It has been very touch and go for the past week or so. The doctors prepared us that Don’s situation looked bleak, but he is a fighter as we all know.
Don remains in the hospital and as of this morning, we are finally seeing some improvement. God is good! Don was moved out of ICU June 12th, but has to be on dialysis every other day from now till who knows when? This will give his kidneys the help they need to hopefully start functioning again.
It is with a humbled heart that I have to ask my friends, family and in some cases strangers for monetary help. Anything you can donate is truly appreciated! With myself fighting lung cancer and Don now being laid up for who knows how long, your donations will help with costs not covered by insurance and also with a barage of medications that Don will now need. It is not in character for us to ask for help, it is extremely hard, but at this time it seems like the only alternative. I never thought this was something I would ever have to do; reach out for help.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any and all consideration! Even small donations will go a long way! And thank you for your love and support! We are overwhelmed with all the love sent our way, the calls, texts and messages. And the inspirational words and prayers you send keep us going strong! Don and I love each and every one of you! ❤❤
Thank you,
Patty
