Help give our daughter/granddaughter and family a fighting chance at surviving. Miri-Gia Aru Máapi Robin Overlie was born 15 weeks early in Billings, MT. She will be in the NICU until she’s to term in late September. Presently, she has a hole in her heart that may lead to having heart surgery in Denver CO. Only time will tell if the hole closes. Her parents spend time with her everyday watching and praying for her.
Their older daughter Maku Midi is staying with and being taken care of by her grandmas. Donations to the fundraiser will aid in bills, food and travel expenses for the parents and grandmothers to travel for visits during this difficult time. Maacigidadz in advance and our family offers a heartfelt handshake and hug for your donation.
Miri-Gua Aru Máapi Robin Overlie. Her name means “Offering Cornball in the Water” in Hidatsa. Her Mandan name, gifted to her by her paternal grandmother Vanessa Overlie, is “Fights Alone Woman”. Her Arikara name gifted by her maternal grandmother Melinda JIncognito, is “Pumpkin Flower.”
She is first and foremost a Child of God and we will raise her that way alongside our MHA ways. Máapi (Cornball) is what we will call her for short but she is also a member of the Miribaadi (Waterbuster) Clan and child of Maxooxadi (Alkali Lodge) Clan.
Her parents are with her around the clock. When her stats drop, it’s the soothing, comforting voices of her parents that bring them back to normal range. Any donation, no matter how small, greatly helps the family.
