Help Larry Get a Wheelchair Accessible Van

Larry has been a close family friend for over 30 years, and his determination has always inspired us. In 1990, Larry was shot on the streets of Compton and has been paralyzed from the chest down ever since. Now 71, he gets around in his power wheelchair and continues to live life with a positive spirit. After a recent back surgery, it’s become much harder for him to transfer from his wheelchair to his truck, and as we’ve all gotten older, it’s become difficult for us to help him travel the way he loves.

Larry has always been the kind of person who helps out however he can. He often says, “I’m not handicapped, I’m handicapable,” and he truly lives by those words. He never lets his disability get in the way of his dreams. Larry loves to travel, visit the beach, and spend time with friends and family. He dreams of returning to Colorado to see his family, fishing, and exploring the farmland and rivers of California. A wheelchair accessible van would open up these opportunities for him again, allowing us to continue making memories together and helping Larry stay connected to the people and places he loves.

We want to give Larry the freedom to keep exploring and living life to the fullest. Your support will help us purchase a van that meets his needs and ensures he can keep traveling with us for years to come. Every contribution brings us closer to making this dream a reality for Larry.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
