Dear compassionate dog lovers,
My heart is heavy as I reach out today to ask for your support for a truly beloved dog named Alice. She’s a cherished member of her family, and like many of us, her family sees her not just as a pet, but as family.
Yesterday, what started as a normal hike took a terrifying turn when Alice tragically impaled herself with a tree branch in the chest. Her extended canine family immediately rushed her to Pieper-Olson Veterinary Hospital in Middletown, Connecticut, where the incredible team quickly sprang into action.
Alice underwent an urgent CT scan, which alone cost several thousand dollars, followed by a complex emergency surgery to remove a 5-inch piece of wood from her chest cavity. The procedure involved a partial sternotomy, and she’s been in rough shape since.
The emotional toll on her family is immense, and the financial burden from these unexpected, life-saving measures is staggering. We know that any amount raised will only be a drop in the bucket compared to the overall expenses they’ve incurred, but even a small contribution can help offset the overwhelming costs and give them a glimmer of hope as Alice recovers.
If you’ve ever loved a dog, you know the profound bond we share. Please consider helping Alice’s family during this incredibly difficult time. Every share, every donation, no matter how small, brings them closer to easing this unexpected burden and focusing on Alice’s healing.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity.
