Hi, My name is Pearl and I’m fundraising for my 9 years old cousin Vian.
Vian is a bright, loving 9-year-old boy who moved to Canada with his parents 3 years ago in search of a better life. Just as they were beginning to settle, life took a heartbreaking turn.
After struggling with common cold and fever for 2 months, Vian was diagnosed with lymphoma at BC Children’s Hospital, Vancouver. His parents, who had no job, no house, and very limited resources, were forced to put their lives on hold to stay in Canada so Vian could receive life-saving treatment. BC Children’s Hospital became their refuge, offering them incredible care and support through Vian’s difficult journey.
With hope, strength, and countless prayers, Vian completed his treatment, and the family slowly started to rebuild their lives. They were eagerly counting down the days to his two-year remission milestone and looking forward to welcoming a new baby into the family.
But just as things were starting to look up, their world was shattered again.
A Second Diagnosis: Leukemia
Vian has now been diagnosed with leukemia, a completely new and devastating battle. He must once again face harsh, exhausting treatments. The worst part? Vian will not be able to meet or hold his new sibling until his chemotherapy is finished, which is incredibly painful for the entire family.
His mum will need to stay home to care for the new baby, and his dad will have to take time off work to support them all during this overwhelming time. With no stable income and mounting costs, transportation, basic needs, baby essentials, and the emotional toll, this young family urgently needs help.
