My name is Martha. Meet my husband, William, father of 4 wonderful kids and grandparent of 6 beautiful girls. William was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in 2022 after retiring from a 16-year IT career. He was on my insurance plan throughout this journey until this year when my job decided to let me go, knowing I am his caregiver and that his treatments depended on my insurance plan.
It’s so hard to ask for help, but we need it, please. Any little bit helps to pay off the medical bills that we are accumulating. He is now undergoing further treatment at City of Hope and unfortunately, while it’s working on his lungs, there’s another tumor that doubled in size in his lymph node. Surgery is not an option at this time due to high scar tissue buildup. Radiation is the next line of treatment.
