Hi there,
I’m a 23-year-old transgender man, and I’m currently trying to raise funds to cover the cost of my top surgery with Dr. Stanwix in Richmond, VA. Unfortunately, my family isn’t supportive of my identity, and I’ve been navigating this journey alone. While I’m doing my best to manage, I’m also a full-time college student, which makes it extremely difficult to save for something so important to my well-being.
Because of my situation at home and the risk of being outed, I’ve chosen to remain anonymous for now. I know that might make things harder when deciding whether to donate but I hope you can understand that my safety depends on staying private.
Why I’m Asking for Help:
I’ve been out as a transgender man for over 5 years, and on testosterone for 3. My chest has always been one of the biggest sources of dysphoria for me. Binding daily has taken a toll on my physical and mental health causing back pain, shortness of breath, skin damage, and emotional distress. Some days, even simple tasks like studying or walking outside feel overwhelming.
Top surgery isn’t just a physical change it’s a chance to breathe freely, to feel like myself, and to finally live without constant discomfort or fear.
About the Surgery:
I’m planning to have a double incision (DI) top surgery with Dr. Stanwix, whose work I admire and trust. The estimated total cost, including surgery, anesthesia, and post-op care, is around $5,000. I’ve already spoken with his team and am working toward getting everything scheduled, but I can’t move forward without the funds.
How You Can Help:
Donate: Any amount—$5, $10, $50—brings me closer to a life of comfort and authenticity.
Share: Even if you can’t donate, sharing this page with someone who might would mean the world.
Support: Words of encouragement or simply acknowledging this journey help more than you know.
This is not just about surgery it’s about having the chance to live truthfully, safely, and with dignity.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Whether you donate, share, or just send a kind thought my way, you’re helping someone move one step closer to healing.
With gratitude and hope,
A Grateful Trans Guy
