Hi, this is Matthew Bather a close friend of Denise and her parents. Denises’ daughter, Jolene (JoJo), who turned 1 yesterday, has spent the last three weeks in ICU at Toronto Sicks Kids with a serious, undiagnosed issue that has seen her have two brain surgeries to relieve pressure. Jojo was always such a happy little girl, who suddenly developed high blood pressure that affected her brain, requiring a temporary shunt to relieve the pressure. She celebrated her 1st birthday on 11 June with a second brain surgery and MRI.
Her mother and partner, Hayden, remain by her side unable to work or even travel home. Barrie is too far, causing them serious distress, emotionally and financially, resorting to sleeping in their car when they take a break.
They need help and if this is what we can do to help them focus on JoJo, then that is okay.
