Laura has defied the odds since the day she was born. Now she needs our help to do it again. At just 23, our sweet Laura is facing a fight no one should ever have to face. She was recently diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. For most people, that diagnosis alone would feel impossible. But for Laura, it is only the latest in a lifetime of challenges. She was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, also known as Brittle Bone Disease – a rare genetic condition causes extremely fragile bones.
Her life up until this point has been filled with countless surgeries, fractures, hospital stays, and physical therapy. But even in the face of so many obstacles, she met life with laughter, love, and determination. That same strength is what continues to carry her through today’s fight. Still, even the strongest fighters need help when the challenges are this overwhelming.
Against all odds, Laura recently graduated college and began searching for her first “adult” job. She was finally ready to step into the life she had worked so hard to build. Then, without warning, the unimaginable diagnosis of cancer has now been added to her plate.
On June 5th, Laura began her first round of chemotherapy. Her treatment plan is expected to last approximately 44 weeks and will include at least one major surgery. The road ahead will be physically grueling, emotionally draining, and financially overwhelming – not just for her but for her family who stands by her side through it all.
Laura is strong. But she cannot walk this path alone. That is why we are reaching out to ask for your help. We are raising funds to help cover these unexpected expenses Laura and her family now face, including but not limited to:

- Travel, lodging, and meals while she receives care
- Lost wages, as Laura will be unable to work during her year long treatment
