Valerie’s Road to Recovery

Valerie has always been the heart of our family and a dedicated service clerk and florist at the local Big Y in Derby, CT. In February, she suffered a serious fall that left her with a broken hip. Since then, she’s been unable to work, and despite efforts to save her hip, she’s now unable to walk and must wait until late July for a hip replacement. The past few months have been incredibly hard—Valerie is confined to a wheelchair that doesn’t fit her, and even simple tasks like putting on shoes or socks require help. Our son has stepped in to care for both of us, as I’m retired and disabled myself, but the strain is growing every day.

With Valerie out of work, our daily living costs and mounting medical bills have become overwhelming. We’re doing everything we can to keep afloat, but it’s getting harder to manage. A new wheelchair is urgently needed, and every day brings new challenges as we try to support Valerie through her recovery. The uncertainty and financial stress have taken a toll on our family, and we’re reaching out for help to get through this difficult time.

Your support would mean the world to us. It would help cover essential living expenses, pay off medical bills, and provide Valerie with a proper wheelchair so she can regain some independence while she waits for surgery. Most importantly, it would bring relief and hope to our family, easing the anxiety of daily life and helping Valerie focus on healing. Any contribution, no matter the size, would make a real difference and help put a smile back on Valerie’s face.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
