All angels aren’t beautiful heavenly beings sometimes they appear in blue scrubs. During one of the hardest times of my life, my daughter and I met April Rose. She became Ryan’s caretaker. At first we were so scared of her. She was a nurse on a mission. Everything had to be medically correct when she was on duty. But when her softer side came out, she became Ryan’s best friend and confidant and would eventually become my savior. Ryan was a quadriplegic vent dependent. April would come 8 hours a day. Sometimes she’d stay longer when she didn’t have to. She made sure Ryan was turned every two hours. She made her feel like a person. Never a burden. When Ryan died, she saw my grief. She threw me in the car and drove me 1800 miles to a husband who had been waiting four years for me to come home. Today I found out this wonderful person has been in a horrible accident. So many broken bones and internal injuries. She wont be able to walk for six months and will be hospitalized for a while. She needs help to pay her bills. Her biggest fear is she will lose everything she’s worked so hard for. Will you please help me by donating.
Thank you,
Karen Pierce
