Raising funds for Prostate treatment

Hi , my name is Dave (69) and I am raising funds for prostate treatment. I qualify for the Nanoknife treatment that has minimal risks of erectile dysfunction and incontinence and much more. At present this treatment is awaiting MBS approval in Australia although it is approved in the UK under the NHS. It has a very high success rate but will probably take 12-18 months to get an MBS item number.

So with currently approved treatments including surgery and radiation I run a high risk of short term and long term side effects. My surgeon has advised against waiting 12-18 months due to the risk of spreading outside my prostate.

I am an RAAF (9 years) veteran and a DVA pensioner and my private health fund cannot approve without the MBS item number. There is no Medicare benefit for the same reason. The cost to me would be around $26k which I cannot afford at this time.
