Thank you for reading this.
Elizabeth, Panta’s oldest daughter, has stage 3 breast cancer and needs chemotherapy and surgery for her to survive. I found out about her situation from Panta and then called her. She didn’t ask me for help. I wanted to see what I could do to help her. She has had a short term job at the banana plantation and so she has insurance, but the insurance will only cover 50% of the cost of the chemo. I have seen her medical records and her situation is very serious. She has open sores on her breasts and is in a lot of pain. Elizabeth has a good chance of survival, but she needs our help because she can’t pay for the treatments and surgery on her own. She started chemotherapy a month ago and has had 3 treatments and was hospitalized last week because the side effects were so bad. I have been paying $1,500 for each chemo treatment, which is the half the insurance doesn’t cover, so I have helped with $4,500 but I don’t have more money to contribute. Elizabeth still has 3 more treatments to go, which will cost another $4,500, and she will need surgery after her chemo is done, which the hospital said will be about $22,000. In total we need to come up with $26,500 beyond what I have already contributed.
Elizabeth doesn’t have anyone else but us who can help her. God will be looking out for her, but as her family we can come together and help her to survive. I can’t do this alone.
