Well, a trip to the emergency room changed my whole life. I went there with some pretty bad upper leg pain that had been bothering me for a couple of months. After a CAT scan, I was informed that I needed emergency surgery and was being sent over to OHSU. What they found was cancer. Renal cell carcinoma stage 4. Cancer in the kidney. The cancer spread to my femur bone and ate it away. That’s why the pain. They did surgery and scraped off as much of the cells as they could and put in a plate and screws. After a couple of weeks of gathering their information, they found another spot on my spine. I just finished radiation on my leg and will soon be starting it on my spine along with immunotherapy. With so many appointments and treatment and still recovering from surgery, I am unable to work for a while.I have gone from caregiver to patient. On top of that my transmission is out on my car. If you would like to help me on my journey it would be greatly appreciated.
