John has always been the friend who quietly steps in to help others during their hardest moments. When I lost my beloved Maddie and later my heart dog, Connor, John sent me two beautiful hand-drawn portraits that captured their spirit perfectly. He never asked for anything in return—his art was simply a gift of comfort and kindness. Many in our community have similar stories of John’s generosity, especially when it comes to honoring the pets we’ve loved and lost.
Recently, John faced a serious setback after a surgery led to an infection. He’s still in the hospital, working hard to recover, but the medical bills are piling up. The small income he once received from his artwork has all but disappeared while he focuses on healing. John’s family is doing their best to support him, but the financial strain is growing. I’m hoping we can come together to help ease the burden for John and his loved ones, just as he has done for so many of us.
