Hi, I’m Meg, a child therapist from the United States and I am directly helping a families caught in the violent crisis in Gaza. This campaign is dedicated to the nephew of another family that I am supporting. Mohammed Al-Tayy, a 4 year old child was injured in his eye during an attack on the families neighborhood (the child in the photo and the destroyed home behind him). Mahmoud Alkhalout is his father, who was forced to stay behind in Gaza, while his wife Amani traveled with Mohammed, and two other children, Eileen (7 years old), and Karim (9 years old) to Egypt to give Mohammed emergency surgery on his eye.
Mohammed’s medical care requires a valve that will cost $3,000, plus medical costs for surgery, hospital stay, and medication.
Amani must pay for housing in Egypt and basic needs for all four of them.
Mahmoud must have basic needs in Gaza, with ever increasing prices for basic food and living items.
