Help Shakima Fight Leptomeningeal Disease with Love and Strength
Hi, my name is Cameron Abraham, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my beautiful wife, Shakima, who is courageously battling a rare and aggressive condition called Leptomeningeal Disease (LMD)—a complication of cancer that affects the protective lining of the brain and spinal cord.
In March 2025, after years in remission and chemo-free since 2018, Shakima was unexpectedly diagnosed with LMD. This news turned our world upside down. What began as subtle symptoms—headaches, neck pain, and blurred vision—soon became a life-altering medical journey.
Despite this diagnosis, Shakima has shown incredible strength. She began treatment with Enhertu, a powerful targeted therapy that gives hope for remission. So far, her scans have shown signs of healing, and her doctors are encouraged. She continues to fight with resilience, faith, and a fierce will to live.
Why We’re Asking for Help
Because of this diagnosis:
• Shakima is currently unable to work.
• I’ve cut back significantly on my hours to be her full-time caregiver—managing medications, appointments, emotional support, and daily care.
• Insurance only covers part of the costs, and we are now facing mounting medical bills, transportation costs, and daily living expenses like groceries and utilities.
We are humbly asking for help during this time of uncertainty. Every dollar, prayer, and share of this fundraiser means the world to us. Your support will allow us to:
• Continue treatment with Enhertu
• Afford MRI and scan follow-ups
• Cover household and caregiving costs while I work limited hours
