Hi everyone,
My name is Eric Portillo Lopez, and I’m reaching out during one of the most difficult times in my life. I was recently diagnosed with an adrenal neoplasm on my right adrenal gland—a tumor that develops in the adrenal glands, which are located on top of the kidneys. These tumors can be either benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). I am still waiting to hear back from the pathologist if it is cancerous or not, and what the following steps will be. As a result, I had to undergo a major surgery called Adrenalectomy on June 2nd, 2025, during which doctors removed the adrenal gland along with part of my liver.
The surgery was a success, but the road to recovery is long. I’ll be out of work for at least 6 weeks while I heal and attend follow-up appointments. Unfortunately, the medical bills, medications, and everyday expenses like rent and groceries are quickly piling up. I’ve already used up most of what I had saved up for this, but the bills and expenses can’t wait.
I’m asking for help to get through this period of recovery. Every donation—no matter the size—goes directly toward covering medical costs and keeping a roof over my head while I focus on healing.
Thank you for reading, supporting, and sharing my story. Your kindness means more than I can put into words.
With love, gratitude, and appreciation,
Eric Portillo Lopez
