Help Me Smile Again & Return to School for My Kids
Hi, my name is LaToya, and I’m a single mom of three doing everything I can to build a better life for my family. Recently, I experienced a painful accident — I fell down a flight of stairs and lost one of my front teeth. What might seem like “just a tooth” has had a deep emotional impact. It’s affected my confidence, my ability to smile, and how I show up in the world — as a mother, a student, and a woman trying to reclaim her future.
The cost to replace my front tooth is more than I can afford right now. I’ve been told it could be over $2,000 once everything is included — exams, X-rays, and a dental implant or bridge. I don’t have dental insurance, and this unexpected expense has become a real barrier to moving forward.
At the same time, I’ve made the decision to go back to school. I’ve recently been accepted into a college program, and I’ve been awarded a Pell Grant — but starting over isn’t easy. Between school supplies, transportation, and caring for my children, even small financial setbacks can feel overwhelming.
