Meet Emily. She has been battling a rare autoimmune illness since 2017. We have traveled countless miles between Lake Havasu City and Phoenix, Arizona over the last almost 8 years. Emily suffers from a rare peripheral nerve disorder called CIDP. It’s a rare condition with no known cure, causing crippling weakness throughout her body, mainly in the arms and legs. In the last two years, she has become wheelchair-bound, and in the last year, she has started suffering pain throughout her entire body.
Fast forward to today, the medication regimens and IVIG therapy are no longer working; in fact, they are causing damage to her vital organs, specifically her kidneys. The neurologist is now recommending a move to the valley for a long-term plasmapheresis regimen, which is kind of a last-ditch resort. Moving is hard, and moving so far will require our family to uproot our lives of the last 30 years, but it has to be done.
I am seeking help for moving costs, like first and last month’s rent, and security to get her closer to the medical care she has to have. Anything is appreciated: prayers, sharing, etc. The time has come, and we have to go. Thank you for reading, and may God bless you all.
Jodi.
