Hello!
My name is Kristin. I am Sarah’s sister, and I started this page so that together we can relieve some financial burden throughout Sarah and BJ’s healing process! We are so very thankful Sarah and BJ are still with us following a motorcycle accident on June 4th. They are currently still in the hospital, and though stable, have a long road of recovery ahead! We know there’s a vast community of people asking what they can do and how they can help, so let’s come together and pay it forward!
On Wednesday, June 4, Sarah and BJ were in a motorcycle accident. Both of them sustained injuries that are going to take quite a bit of time to heal! Sarah broke her scapula in pieces, her clavicle, ribs, and her sternum. Unlike long bone fractures, her fractures will heal with time, not a cast. Moving, breathing, and activities of daily living are painful, and most tasks cannot be achieved on her own right now.
We keep reminding BJ that he does indeed have a “thick skull” because although he broke his face into pieces and has sustained an eye injury so significant it may require surgery, his brain is intact and working properly! For that, we are thankful!
Both of them require an extensive healing process, which means they will be out of work for weeks to months. They were both reluctant to ask for this kind of financial help; no one wants to be in this position, but I know the friends and community who are just waiting to rally behind them! Neither of them can be home alone, and together, due to their injuries, cannot take care of each other. The beginning of their recovery will take place in Hatfield. Providing company, offering a meal, checking in on cats in VT, washing or styling Sarah’s hair, keeping Nicole and Bill company, no offer is too small!
