My name is Alisha Fogle and I know that we have used fundraiser in the past to help with Joe. Yet again, I’m asking y’all for help.
Our sweet Joe is 10 going on 11 years old, and just underwent surgery #28. He had his final spinal fusion on May 8th, 2025. Recovery was going beautifully until, in true Joe fashion, it wasn’t. Joe got hospitalized again on May 28th because he developed a staph infection in not only his blood but his back again as well. This resulted in him having emergency surgery on June 1st to replace the bone grafts that were placed over his permanent hardware last month. Things are going better and we are finally discharging home on June 6th, 2025.
Unfortunately, we are bringing part of the hospital home with us. Due to the infection, Joe has to receive IV antibiotics every 8 hours for the next 6 weeks, so he has a PICC line in his right arm as well as a wound vac for his spine as it is only partially closed to enhance healing from the inside out.
We need help covering bills and also looking ahead to school shopping. I will not be able to work until we get Joe completely healed, and we are looking at months. Joe does get SSDI, but it isn’t enough to cover the cost of living. I’m only asking for enough to pay ahead on bills and to make up for what I had to spend on hotel and food costs during this latest stay. If y’all know us in real life, you know I hate asking and that unfortunately, Joe’s health is known for throwing curveballs.
