Our friend Mary Beth was in a very scary accident late in the evening of Wednesday, June 4th. She was commuting home on her scooter from a long workday and was hit by a car less than a mile from her house. She was taken to the hospital via ambulance due to her injuries, where it was confirmed she suffered a broken leg, a broken collarbone, and a broken middle finger (very fitting for MB). She’s since had emergency surgery to address her leg and has a long road of recovery ahead of her.
MB needs the help of her community now! This accident will result in unexpected bills and overall expenses that she wasn’t prepared for. Besides the fact her scooter was totaled, she will be wheelchair-bound for a minimum of two months while healing from her injuries. Help me raise money to replace her scooter, offset some of the anticipated medical bills and overall expenses, and allow MB to get herself a little treat now and then as she recovers. She will not be able to drive and will need to rely on friends and delivery services to get everything she needs during this time.
MB has spent her life dedicated to helping animals – specifically in vet med. She’s a well-known pet sitter in the area, she’s often picking up last-minute shifts to help her friends and colleagues within multiple departments at the veterinary hospital she works at, and works full-time as the Nurse Coordinator with the Comparative Immunotherapy Program at the hospital. Let’s help Mary Beth get back on her feet and back to saving animals!
We are starting this fundraiser at $7,000 but this may need to be increased once Mary Beth learns all of the logistics from this accident – including insurance, work, and other factors as they come up.
