Support Charles’ Liver Transplant Journey

My name is Charles, and I am currently facing a challenging time as I await a liver transplant. Due to severe liver disease and a ruptured hamstring, I am unable to work as a master stone mason, a profession I have dedicated myself to for many years. This has left me and my family in a difficult financial situation, as I am currently residing at MUSC, three hours away from my family.

My wife is at home, taking care of our three children—Ronin, who is 3, Thea, who is 5, and Wyatt, who is 12—while also managing work and household responsibilities. The distance and my inability to contribute have added significant stress to our lives. We are seeking support to cover medical bills, travel costs, daily living expenses, and childcare during this time.

Being on the transplant list is a daunting experience, and the surgery itself is one of the toughest abdominal surgeries. Recovery can take six months to a year, and during this time, I need to focus on healing without the added burden of financial stress. Your support would not only help us manage these expenses but also provide peace of mind for my family. My youngest children don’t fully understand the situation, but my oldest, Wyatt, does, and it’s taking a toll on him. My wife is incredibly stressed, and any assistance would help ease the sharp edge of this challenging time for our family.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
