Dear friends and family,
As many of you probably already know, I have a disability that may not be visible to others but is very real. Several of my medical impairments leave me in a debilitated state most days. The lupus causes flare-ups throughout my body, which in return causes relentless amounts of pain and inflammation. It feels as if I have the flu every day and have body aches dispersing out of every area. A recent PET scan discovered a disorder called MGUS. MGUS is a blood plasma disorder that can attack the bones and lead to osteoporosis.
The osteoporosis, which I have now developed, leaves my bones feeling sensitive, with a painful, burning sensation when touched. It causes my body to be uncoordinated and unbalanced, which sometimes leads to me losing my balance and falling; hence why I use a cane. At any time, a piece of bone can break off.
As if none of this is bad enough, I have a blood clotting disorder called lupus anticoagulant, which does not allow me to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time. Twenty minutes is usually the max for sitting, standing, and walking. My limbs start to swell and feel as if they are going to burst!
Besides this, I also have arthritis and fibromyalgia, which attack my joints and muscles. Once again, when I have a flare-up, I am left in a debilitating state and have to lie down for the day.
On top of all things mentioned, I suffer from diabetes, hypertension, hypoparathyroidism, and migraines.
I am currently fighting a disability case; however, in the meantime, I have racked up several thousand dollars in medical expenses and struggle to pay the monthly bills. My husband, who has been extremely supportive throughout my medical journey, has been the sole provider and has been trying to keep us afloat. Financially, we are struggling and ask if anyone can lend a helping hand and donate, it would be much appreciated. Every little bit matters!
