Support Jay’s Journey Through Kidney Failure

Hi, my name is Jay! A little bit about me. In 2018, my kidneys failed, and I found out that I had a rare genetic disorder called Alport syndrome. I received a transplant later that year, and from the beginning, it had problems. Then, after COVID hit and getting COVID multiple times, the transplant ended up failing this past July. I am now back on dialysis and can no longer work like I used to, around 60-70 hours a week. I still do part-time hours at about 20-25 hours a week, but I simply do not make enough now.

I’ve been in and out of the hospital constantly in the last year, so those hours are even less most of the time. Now, I have a pretty major surgery coming up to remove the old transplant as it is going through rejection and is causing me problems. Depending on how things go, the recovery time will be 6 weeks minimum, so I will be out of work during that time. I’m finding it very hard as is to keep up with my house payment, car payment, and a couple of other bills. My goal here is to raise enough money to pay off some, if not all, of them. That way, if something happens and I can no longer work, I’m not going to lose my house and my mode of transportation, which as of right now, I’m borrowing a vehicle as my vehicle broke down. The clutch went out, but I managed to buy the parts to fix it. However, I have not managed to have time to do the work yet between work and dialysis and all the rain, as I don’t have access to a garage.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
