Hi. My name is Elizabeth Witz, and I am a homeschool mom and wife who is also going through medical issues. I am working hard to get back to health. I have been diagnosed with stage 2 chronic kidney disease, orthostatic hypotension, tested positive for the LZTR1 cancer gene mutation, and had to go through emergent surgery to have a benign tumor that was cutting off blood flow to an organ removed. Although I am really working at gaining back my health, new health issues keep popping up, and I am facing more imaging, biopsies, and surgeries that insurance may not cover. My husband is the sole breadwinner of the family, and he may have to take off work to be with me. I also have out-of-town appointments at UVA coming up, one of which will be a urology appointment and the other will be neurology. I also have other more local appointments, such as physical therapy for my orthostatic hypotension, a high-risk breast care center, along with regular doctor’s appointments and specialists. All of this puts wear and tear on our vehicles, and even though we have Medicaid, Medicaid does not cover lodging for out-of-town appointments, nor do they cover food, and they may not cover all the gas, although they do reimburse some of the gas expenses. Medicaid might not even cover all the imaging and very possible surgeries I may need. I’d like to take the load off my husband and try helping our family out during this hard time.
I will update on here, since we don’t know the full answer to my diagnosis. Every little bit counts. Even if you don’t have money, I understand, but please share. But if you can give, give what God places on your heart to give. I don’t like asking for help. In fact, I hate it, but there are times when we truly do need the help. We appreciate any help we can get. Thank you. Please donate and share.
