On 05/08/2025, Weston was out riding his bike with friends when the unthinkable happened. He fell from his bike, and his head and face slammed into the ground. It quickly became clear that this was a serious injury, and Weston was rushed to the nearest hospital emergency room. An initial scan revealed a brain bleed, and due to the seriousness of the situation, Weston was transported via ambulance to UC Davis Medical Center to receive more specialized care. Further testing revealed additional areas of bleeding on his brain, and Weston was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury (TBI). After two separate hospital stays at UC Davis, Weston was finally stabilized enough to be able to return home to continue his recovery. He has an amazing team of outpatient doctors and specialists to help him on the long and difficult journey ahead. Weston has been suffering from frequent, intense headaches and short-term memory loss. He has to relearn many basic motor skills (including walking) and requires 24/7 constant supervision for the foreseeable future. His mother, Jennifer, hasn’t left his side and has taken on the role of caregiver during his recovery. She is currently unable to work due to the many doctors and therapy appointments and the around-the-clock care that is required at this time.
We have set up this fundraiser to help Weston and his family during this extremely stressful time to try and help with the hospital and specialist bills that are beginning to accrue. Due to the loss of income for Jennifer, we would like to help ease the financial burden and raise as much as we can to help this sweet family navigate through this truly challenging time.
