Hello, my name is Craig Wilson. I am starting this fundraiser because I have lost everything due to my chronic autoimmune disease, Guillain-Barre syndrome, and it making me immunocompromised. Recently, my significant other decided that it was too much and they wanted a different life, which is fine. I wouldn’t expect a lot of people to stick around for all this medical stuff that I have to go through.
Right now, I’m currently in a Skilled Nursing Facility, but when I get out of here, I do not have a place to live and I do not have a way to get around as far as anyone helping get me to where I need to be to pick up medicines, go to doctor’s appointments, or anything like that. I am starting this fundraiser because I lost everything, and I mean everything. I was financially stable, but of course, we have a nine-month-old son, so I let my son stay where he is comfortable in the house that they live in and made sure they had enough money, which was all of it, to take care of what they needed to take care of.
I have had this disease for 3 years. I am paralyzed from the T7 down. I also have chronic colitis and mesentery panniculitis in my gut and have been hospitalized eight times since November, and it’s almost killed me twice. I’m starting this fundraiser to help get back on my feet when I get out of the Skilled Nursing Facility and try to live a normal life and have a place for my son to come and spend time with me. This is hard to do and this is hard to ask for, but sometimes people need help, and I hope that there are enough people still good in this world that can help out.
I am a Marine Corps veteran, and I have worked mostly in law enforcement and security my whole life until the sickness hit me, so I always helped others. So I hope the good karma of helping others my whole life will come back around now. God bless you all and anything else.
