Help Support Mike’s Fight in the Neurology ICU.
This past Monday, our world changed in an instant. My dad, Mike, woke up unable to swallow or move anything but wiggle his fingers and move his feet back and forth- and within hours, he was paralyzed from the shoulders down. By that afternoon, he was intubated, sedated, and life flighted to the Neurology ICU- where he has remained ever since.
Doctors still don’t have a clear diagnosis. While they suspect Guillain-Barré Syndrome, they’re not certain. In the meantime, they’ve started blood transfusions to see how his body responds. Today, he is receiving a feeding tube and a tracheotomy so he can be placed on a ventilator to support his breathing.
If you know Mike, you know how full of life he is. He loves his family deeply, lives to make others laugh, and is always the first one on the dance floor. He’s the life of the party, the kind of person who brings light into every room—and now, he needs our help.
This has been a devastating and unexpected medical crisis. As we face an uncertain road ahead, we’re also navigating the growing financial challenges that come with ICU care, long-term treatment, and missed work.
We’re reaching out to our community—friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers—for support. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward Mike’s medical expenses and support for our family during this incredibly difficult time.
If you’re not able to give, please keep Mike in your thoughts and prayers, and share this with others who may be able to help.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing by us and sending your love to the man who has always shared his with everyone else.
