In January of 2025 our dad Gordon Webster was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). As a family we were all shocked by this diagnosis and are trying to maneuver through our family’s new life’s normal.
To know our dad is to know that he has always been an independent man that has a difficult time excepting help. He would much rather help others then have others help him. This past fall ALS forced him to stop working at the age of 72. As his disease progresses it becomes more challenging to maintain his independence and complete just the simplest task of daily living.
Our dad’s wishes are to stay in his home of 52 plus years and not have to live in a nursing home. As a family we want to do everything we can to honor his wishes.
We have been instructed by medical professionals that there are many home modifications needed in order for our dad to maintain safety and his current stage of assisted independence.
These home modifications and the level of medical care our dad will need, as the disease progresses, comes with a large financial cost.
We thank you in advance for donating, considering a donation, sharing this page, and keeping our dad and our entire family in your prayers.
We are hopeful someday in the near future there will be a cure for this disease.
