I am Starla Haney, Brianna’s mother. I am reaching out with a humble heart to ask for support as my daughter Brianna has been facing one of the hardest battles of her life. She was diagnosed with AML leukemia on October 26, 2025 and our world has been completely turned upside down. She recently had a Bone Marrow Transplant & we are having to live in Birmingham AL.
Brianna is strong, courageous, and resilient—but this journey is taking a toll emotionally, physically, and financially. Her first medical bill just arrived from Mobile, and even after insurance, the cost is astronomical. On top of that, her prescription medications alone are nearly $960 per month. Even though I have applied for assistance through provided resources, things are very limited.
As her mom, I’ve had to take time away from work through FMLA to be there for her during weekly clinic visits, manage side effects, and support her emotional well-being. This has made it incredibly difficult to work consistently, and the financial strain is beginning to overwhelm us.
